Unlocked by phone – simple, secure, and for everyone
The Etugate system brings a modern way to manage access in Czech schools. Using the Alive App Key, students, teachers, and staff can open school buildings, enter cafeterias, unlock lockers, or even confirm attendance. All is secure thanks to encrypted communication via Bluetooth or NFC and is tied to specific devices.
The mobile key in the app is unique, cannot be copied or transferred between phones. This keeps the system secure even when widely deployed. BOOTIQ designed and developed the backend, access control logic, and integration with school devices—readers, locks, and sensors.
"We started with a prototype but quickly turned the system into a production-ready solution. It now controls not just doors but other parts of the school environment," says Michal Hacker, CEO of BOOTIQ.
Scalable solution that grows with the school
The technology is live in 59 schools and is expected to at least double by year-end. Our team's architecture allows easy connection of more devices, schools, and features—whether access points, attendance readers, or CO₂ monitoring in rooms.
The platform is built for deployment without disrupting school operations. The system requires minimal maintenance and lets school staff assign access by roles, time windows, or events. Everything runs in a secure environment with central management and cloud integration.
The solution offers schools comfort and security plus operational relief—no more managing chips, cards, or physical keys. The result is a modern, user-friendly system that meets real school needs.
A modern approach for 21st-century schools
Digitalization makes school attendance, building access, and student management simpler and safer. Alive App Key shows technology can benefit both students and school operations.
The development involved Etugate and GTS Alive, both part of GTS Alive Group. Their collaboration created a technology ready for further growth and wide adoption across Czech schools.
