Rouvy is a Czech startup with global reach, developing indoor cycling applications powered by augmented reality. Rapid growth, dynamic product development, and a lack of skilled developers in the region led the company to strengthen its development externally. In 2021, Rouvy partnered with TALENTIQ to secure developers who not only mastered the required technologies but could also align with the startup’s vision and pace.

The challenge
Rouvy was looking for experienced developers capable of building a complex AR Companion mobile app for controlling indoor trainers. This required technically demanding real-time integration – similar to those used by platforms like YouTube or Spotify. Development was under pressure from rapid growth, limited recruitment capacity, and uncertain future scaling needs. Specialists had to be delivered quickly, flexibly, and without loss of quality.
How we solved it
We supplied experienced developers skilled in Unity, React, and the Unity AR Companion framework, who were able to integrate seamlessly into ongoing development. Some worked on the AR mobile app, others on web components. While collaboration was primarily remote, the developers regularly attended workshops in Vimperk. After several months, the relationship proved highly successful – we introduced a buy-out model that allowed several developers to transition directly into Rouvy’s internal team.
With external support, Rouvy successfully developed a complex AR Companion app within 9 months while also covering other development needs. External specialists made up almost a quarter of the entire development team. The collaboration brought not only the necessary capacity but also know-how that the startup could not have built internally at such an early stage. The delivered solution significantly contributed to the company’s readiness for further growth – including investment from venture capital fund Pale Fire Capital.
