We transformed Konica Minolta’s e-shop into a scalable and profitable solution for the European market

Konica Minolta needed an e-commerce platform for both B2B and B2C markets.

Konica Minolta is a globally recognised IT and technology company producing state-of-the-art printers and other hardware for the B2B market. On the European market, however, it lacked a functional e-commerce solution for selling and renting printers to small businesses behaving like end customers. The company therefore needed to fundamentally improve its online business model and build an e-shop with a modern user experience, localisation for individual markets, and strong growth support — and that is exactly where we came in.

We introduced a modern headless solution on Kentico 13 with a NEXT.js frontend, running in the cloud as a fast and scalable e-shop.
The challenge
The previous solution failed due to a complicated purchase process, non-transparent pricing, poor UX, and no support for localisation. The goal was to build a fast, secure, and easily manageable platform that would deliver a smooth purchasing experience and allow local teams to respond flexibly to market needs.
How we solved it
We carried out a detailed audit and user research, designed a new e-shop concept, and validated it through in-depth interviews and usability testing. We implemented the headless Kentico 13 CMS with a NEXT.js frontend, ensured global operation via Microsoft Azure and CDN, expanded content management and personalisation capabilities, and trained local teams in several European countries.

The result is a modern e-commerce platform that puts the customer first. With it, Konica Minolta can quickly adapt to the specifics of individual markets and manage content effectively at a local level. The website is fast, secure, easily scalable, and optimised for a seamless purchasing process. The buying journey was shortened from 30 minutes to just a few clicks, leading to significantly higher conversions, reduced costs, improved performance, and stronger business results.
